2016 is the year of celebrating the great Roald Dahl’s fabulous work. I loved reading the stories when younger, my favourite being Matilda. Also many a summer holidays, watching The Witches, The BFG or Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
Still many years later, Roald Dahl is still as popular and a firm family favourite. My daughter loves the stories and films, The Fantastic Mr Fox is brilliant and one of my favourites! The film is strongly like taxidermy moving animals, but you really can’t stop watching. I need the making of book of this, it looks amazing how the film was brought to life. Josie has the book collection on her Christmas List, and I can’t wait to see if Santa brings them, as I want to read them as much as she does.
Many of these fantastic stories have been made into films, such as BFG which also recently was done as a remake. James and The Giant Peach has superb animations and brings the story to life. Matilda is the first film I watched with Josie. Charlie and The Chocolate Factory is another favourite. And again was remade, with one of my favourite actors, Johnny Depp. However I do like the original Oompa Loompas.
Whilst looking for the book, I came across a glorious collection of finds:
