#YayEveryday2016 Instagram Creative Challenge

One of the main hurdles when deciding on a new Illustration to doodle, is what to draw. I normally have too many ideas, and unsure of where to start. I used to be like this with school homework.  I recently came across the popular Instagram Creative Challenge #YayEveryday2016 on Instagram, run by Toby I Like Cats. This month Sally from Hand Over Your Fairy Cakes (one of my favourite designers) came up with the keywords for each day. You then can photograph, draw or be as creative as you can for the word of the day.

I have even managed to have kept up each day which for me is a great achievement, being a busy working mummy. The creative challenge is great for giving you ideas. I have gone even further trying to challenge myself using different techniques. Such as finally have got round to using my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils, Copic and Promarkers or Watercolours, rather than just my normal digital illustrations using my Ipad Pro and Apple Pencil.

One challenge I have often admired, is the one Illustrator That Gent Mark  has took part in – #The100DayProject -The commitment Mark has shown being up nearly to 70 so far, and the work he has produced is as always, amazing.

The #YayEveryday2016 challenge happens each month, I will try this another month soon and will also try some different challenges. I want to try and get back into the weekly Hand Lettering challenges.  If drawing is not your thing, there is plenty more categories such as Photography, Crafts etc.

I’ve loved seeing your drawings every day! One of my favourites was the beach huts near the start. I’d love to take part in something like this!

I hope I’ll see a few of the pictures in your etsy shop too! And I think you deserve even more praise for doing this everyday as well as juggling work and home!! You are one fabulous lady xx
