As a self confessed Disney fan, my daughter has naturally taken in my footsteps. Favourite Disney Film at the moment (along with nearly every other child) being Frozen.
February this year, we got tickets through Enchanting Story Book Parties for Rapunzel’s Valentines Ball. The Ball was held at Churchdown, Gloucester. The set up was beautiful when you walked in, the tables were all set up for the little princesses to have their party food, even with little carriages for decorations. All the places also had handmade sweet cones for each little princess to take home.
On arrival you received a pack, which included a programme and printed sheet so you can get the autographs from the characters at the Ball. All the children dressed up, looked beautiful and seeing the looks on their faces was amazing when the characters started to come on stage to perform a show. Each person look just like the characters and were all very professional, even to the accents and mannerisms of the characters. This truly adds to make the experience more magical, which you can tell from the excitement from the children reactions.
After the show, we went to sit down ready for party food which was all included in the price. As Josie was munching on a sandwich, her eyes lit up as Belle and The Beast walked over and said hello to her, as did Princess Tiana, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella and of course Rapunzel and Flynn.
Once the food had been consumed, then finished off with cupcakes and washed down with squash, we set off round the room to meet each character for photos. Each Princess and Prince made sure they took their time with each child, and not only posing for a photo and signing signatures they even made sure they spoke to each child asking questions. It was lovely the children wasn’t just rushed to each character, and each meet and greet was special.
We then all stood in anticipation as the raffle was drawn, then all the characters went to the dance floor. They all started dancing encouraging all of the children to dance with them, also again all taking turns to move round so each child had danced with every character at some point. As we sat watching all of the children having a ball dancing along to a range of Disney songs, they all went in a huge circle and each person took a turn to dance in the middle. The children absolutely loved this, especially Josie which you can tell from the picture below.
Towards the end of the Ball we got ready to go, we said bye to the characters and each one a cuddle. Then each child got a gift upon leaving, Josie received a tiara which she still wears now when dressing up.
Enchanting Story Book Parties ensured all the children had a magical time, and even down to the smallest details around the room was really well thought out, and you could tell a lot of time had been spent thinking of all these ideas.
They host quite a few events throughout the year, as well as providing characters for children parties, christenings, playdates and many more occasions. They always update costumes, such as Frozen have been upgraded to also include Frozen Fever costumes. Big hero 6 are some of the newest characters to join the expanding catalogue of realistic characters already on offer. You can also catch Enchanting Story Book Parties at Toys R Us, Gloucester through out the year providing ‘Meet & Greet’ and raising money for charity.
