August Birchbox #BeautyJunkie

Aug BB 1

After having a mooch on Instagram looking at various beauty posts, I noticed a few pictures about Subscription Boxes. So I have signed up to a few to review and see what all the hype was about for myself.

The first one to arrive has been Birchbox from www.birchbox.co.uk

Birchbox is a Beauty Subscription Box, priced at £10 (plus P&P) per month. You can cancel at anytime.

The box arrived within 2 days of setting up the subscription, and on first looks I totally love the emoji style decorations and will be keeping this box for something useful.  For August the theme for Birchbox was #Beautyjunkie. On opening the box you get details of the contents, and some emoji style stickers which if you love decorating your planner like I do, these are a great little bonus. The goods inside were in a lovely high end dust bag, which again you could use as a washbag, or to store some goodies.

The contents inside are sample sized, not full bottles. But this is nice to try the products out, some I have not heard of so this is nice to see other products out there. The sample sizes are good sizes so you can have a good try of each one, this is much better than some sachets you normally get in magazines.

I will some point do reviews as I try the products, and hope to some point start video blogging so you can see in more details the products.

Inside August’s Birchbox:

Rituals Ayurveda Scrub -With Indian Rose and Multani Clay, I have heard good reviews about this body scrub on other blogs. Looking at the product the smell is lovely and comes out clay like, a great looking purifying body scrub.

Benefit High Beam -Trying this on the back of my hand, this looks a great highlighting product. Great for cheekbones and browbones.

L.Erickson Grab and Go Hairband -These look like a  real sturdy hairband, great for ponytails. I have thick hair and this was great to use, didn’t pull and stretched to be secure but not too tight. These are non-damaging elastic and metal free. Very impressed by the quality of this product and after seeing one I would pay for a tube.

Lord & Berry Blusher -This sample is in Lotus, the colour looks great and is a colour I would use. Only downfall is the sample is quite small. Still enough for quite a few applications.

Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo -I love using a clarifying shampoo now and then to deep cleanse my hair. The sample has enough for about 4-5 washes, for me I would use it once a week so this will last well over a month.

Huygens Face Scrub -Exfoliating cream with rice particles. The packaging looks great and the product has a lovely fragrance. On a quick try the rice particles provide a gentle exfoliant. Again enough for a few uses.

My favourite sample in the box so far is the Huygens Face Scrub. Birchbox.co.uk is also great for shopping for beauty products, if you go over to the website now there is currently a summer sale. All products in the boxes are available on the website which is so much easier if you love one of the samples.
